Fill in the [brackets] with content from the reading and lecture.

Example: The reading passage argues that [main claim]. However, the lecturer challenges this view by presenting three counter-arguments. First, while the reading claims [Claim 1], the professor contends that [counter-argument 1]. Specifically, [supporting detail from lecture]. Second, the reading asserts [Claim 2]. The lecturer disputes this by explaining that [counter-argument 2]. Finally, the reading states [Claim 3]. The professor refutes this by pointing out [counter-argument 3].

Example: In today's rapidly changing world, [topic] has become a subject of great debate. While some argue [opposing view], I firmly believe [your position] for two primary reasons. Important Warning About Templates

ETS raters are trained to spot rote-memorised templates. Use the structure as a framework, but fill it with specific, relevant content. A template with real content always scores higher than a personal essay written without structure.
